Operations & Management Print E-mail

VHA Global specialises in the provision of short and long-term contracted Operational Management Services, including Operational Commissioning, for any scale hospital or health care facility.

VHA Global will typically:

  • Supply the senior executive management team as part of our contractual responsibility and support the management team until they reach a sustainable level of performance.
  • Work with the client to devise detailed organisational and committee structures consistent with best practice international standards.
  • Ensure hospital compliance with statutory obligations and prudent commercial practices.
  • Identify, procure and manage the implementation of appropriate hospital systems, including information systems for management and clinical applications.
  • Implement and monitor quality management, performance improvement, patient satisfaction, international standards and benchmarking and facilitate international networking.

The commissioning program offered by VHA Global has a proven record of success. The discipline it imposes makes it a more-than-useful process to follow when VHA Global first takes over the management of an existing hospital.

Commissioning

The smooth opening of any new or redeveloped hospital or health facility is crucial to the public having a positive perception of the facility. A badly managed commissioning process can result in compromised patient care, low morale and costly operational adjustments. The repercussions of this can last well beyond

the official opening date. It is critical that the new facility can deliver quality patient care as soon as it opens, and all associated support services can perform efficiently and effectively.

VHA Global uses an integrated approach in developing detailed activity and resource plans on which the overall commissioning plan is based. This means that the many operational, commissioning and estate functions are addressed alongside design, construction, equipment, engineering and regulatory issues. This approach prevents the problems that otherwise arise from decisions being made without appropriate interdisciplinary consultation between providers and users.

The overall objectives of the VHA Global approach are quality assurance management, risk minimization and a seamless transition to full and effective operation.

Commissioning services include:

  • Familiarising staff with the transition process
  • Developing the transition assessment and plan
  • Designing, launching and supporting new organisational structures and operational procedures and processes
  • Staff recruitment
  • Preparing procedural manuals
  • Projecting commissioning budget items
  • Developing the start up plan
  • Providing work tools and templates
  • Operational development
  • Occupancy planning Development
